Help me next time get an earlier start. If you were one of the many people who believed I was brilliant (and I am), let me know. Unlike Institutional Parties, I had to spend the first 2 weeks of the Election gathering my 100 signatures for my Nomination Papers. I don't enjoy the benefits of a Riding Association, a bevy of followers instantly poised and ready to sign on. As a result, half my time was forfeited, and the media had less time to learn about me and my political views.
Elizabeth May got elected, but she said she had 1700 volunteers! I had about 8. I am certain we could have Capitalism represented in Parliament if I too had the benefit of more "troops", so letting me know you could help - even if it is simply to sign the Nomination papers - would be magnificent.
You don't have to waste your vote on second rate options - you don't have to "hold your nose" while you vote. I have been approached often enough by people who loved what I said but "had to vote strategically" - I just shake my head in pity. How often do you spend your money on what you don't want, just because it's what everyone else is buying into - when the option you really want is right there and better?
As you sow, so shall you reap. If you believe in Capitalism, and can see the limitations of the other products in the marketplace of political ideas, please join. Like the Green Party, it might take 20 years, but one day it will happen.
